Endgame The calling - Masquerade and other treasure huntings / puzzles

James Frey frequently says that the Masquerade story/puzzles inspired him for writing that kind of book.

If you are curious to see what the Masquerade puzzles/story was, I found this link that contains the paintings and solution/analysis: http://bunnyears.net/kitwilliams/masquerade/.

If you are intersted in long term treasure huntings, you could also take a look, by curiosity, to the mythic french chouette d'or. It lasts since the last 20 years... And its creator has been inspired, in a way, by Masquerade too.

I'll try to find english articles about the chouette d'or. I'll keep posting later on other puzzles and treasure huntings. If you know some interesting ones, from any places/languages, please add them in comments, it's always good when we are looking for inspiration....

IMO we have there the most impenetrable puzzle. Hard to find any patterns, don't know if it must be translated. I don't even know if it could be translated. Do we have to find the oringinal source? What about the pictures ?

Endgame The Calling - Estimate the global progess of the players

How are you progressing Endgame treasure hunters

Due to the drastic rules about Endgame puzzles discussion and the usual reticence of them to communicate what they think they are alone to have solved, it's not easy to estimate how quick the puzzle are solved. And then not easy to estimate if you are late or far early regarding the others.

I'm trying to figure it out anyway. And I try to communicate about that wihtout giving any clues.

What everybody knows: the Keplerfuturistics, i guess it's quite clear for all that the 3 eyes must be opened by solving puzzle. The most advanced image I saw, is actually there:

I didn't see or read anything about the third still opened eye...

Now, how many people are playing, and how much have solved a part or all of the kepler room.

85 000 players have solved the first puzzle

It seems that about 85000 players would have solved the first puzzle !!!! 85000 !! it's huuuge !!

Well, now we could ask oursleves, what did he called the first puzzle. Is it joining the full-of-bullshit-site-everyone-knows-but-idon't-want-to-talk-about ? Well, can we call that a puzzle ? Anyway, today there is 2,296 comments on their site, counting the post older than the start of endgame. It's quite a lot anyway, but we are far from the 85 000... of course, not everyone write a comment when arriving there, but I still think 85 000 is enormous.

One more thing, there is some way to know how many people have clicked somewhere, and somewhere leading to a room-you-see-what-I-mean, maybe the easiest, is said to have only been clicked 634 times from october 2014, and less of the half are unique visitors. Somewhere there is something that doesn't work very well....

I would be interesting in knowing how many books have been sold so far, if someone knows ?

Endgame The Calling - Stages, Phases, Released dates, and early access ratio

In the Endgame rules (http://endgamerules.com/us/rules-us.pdf), it is mentionned that some puzzles are not released at the beginning of the stage. As far as i understand, the game is divided in 2 stages. "Stage 1" puzzles are available at start time. "Stage 2" puzzles will be released in 3 phases, at 3 different dates. The release dates will be different for each particiant depending on when he finished the previous stage/phase.
It seems quite clear, but one point would need clarification:

The early access ration 10:1 ? Does it mean that for each 10 days a participant finished a phase before an other participant, the next phase would be released 1 days before ?

Fortunately, they thought to preserved the advantage of the fastest participant, but keeping only 1/10 of the advantage could be frustrating for those who kept stuck too long. Having solved a phase 2 months before the opening of the next one would reduce the advantage from 2 months to 6 small days...

We have to hope that release date will be well calibrated, to hope that marketing considerations don't lead to such cases.

I'm pretty sure all will done for the best... and in any cases i will try to take the more advantage i can take :-)

The excerpt of the rules :

The solution to each individual puzzle will ultimately lead to additional puzzles, until the final puzzle is reached. Some of the puzzles that must be solved in order to win the Contest will not be available on October 7, 2014 (the “Start Date”). Accordingly, completing the last puzzle that is available at any given time does not necessarily indicate completion of all the puzzles included in the Contest. Contest puzzles will be released in two stages during the Contest Period. The first stage (“Stage 1”) of the Contest begins on the Start Date.

The second stage (“Stage 2”) of the Contest will be divided into three phases, with the puzzles associated with each such phase being released on three separate dates. The date on which the puzzles in a particular phase are first made available will be deter mined solely by the Sponsor. These dates will be disseminated to the Contest participants using the contact information provided by participants at the time of Contest registration. A participant’s access to the puzzles in each phase of Stage 2 will be determined based on when the participant solved t he puzzles of the preceding Stage or phase of the Contest relative to other participants. Participants who solve the puzzles more quickly will be rewarded by gaining access to the next Stage or phase before participants who finished the puzzles at a later time. Early access to subsequent puzzles will be determined by a 10:1 ratio. After all of the participants who are entitled to have early access to the next phase of the Contest have been provided such early access, all remaining participants will be granted access to such subsequent phase at the time they successfully complete all puzzles in the preceding Stage or phase. For example, if Player C finishes phase 1 of Stage 2 after (i) the date on which the first puzzle in phase 2 of Stage 2 is made available and (ii) every participant who was entitled to have early access to phase 2 of Stage 2 has been provided with such early access, Player C will receive immediate access to the initial puzzle in phase 2 of Stage 2.

Endgame puzzle - Manifest of Alien Passengers

Turkish, Australian, Japanese, Polish, Italian in the same boat, Nirenberg, from United Kingdom.
A couple and a child for most of them. A single Italian woman, exempted to the identification.
Strange numbers identification.

12 Passengers have identified, a 12 letters word would be helpfull somewhere else.

Starting from that, can't find anything. Nothing about a boat named Nirenberg.
Looking for the passengers here http://libertyellisfoundation.org/passenger, but can't find anything.
Don't know how to start...

The El121212 puzzle seems to be the first one of the book. At least it's the most discussed in blogs and forums.

A all black site, entitled "they're not crazy - they're correct" with an input and a button and... that's all.

A common solution have been accepted by most of the hunters. But it seems to lead to a dead end site.

Is there any hints hidden in this site ? Is there any alternative password that would open a better door ? ...

Update: At least 2 people said they found an alternative password for eol121212.com. From what I understood, it doesn't seem to lead to one of the well know wheels.

Update 2: The more it goes the more i'm suspicious about what people say. Its' so easy to broadcast wrong information when you have the good one, it's a good way to take some advantages. By now, I'll try to avoid reading solutions/hints... At least I won't trust them too much.
